Level monitoring on a blood analyser with CQ35

On a blood analyser, comprising a tank for system fluid and a tank for the waste fluid, it is necessary to monitor the levels. The system fluid, which is mixed with the blood to be analysed, must not fall below a minimum level, and the waste fluid must not exceed a maximum level.

Two series SICK CQ35 capacitive proximity sensors are fitted to the tank mountings on each analyser. If the system fluid drops below the minimum limit, or the maximum limit is exceeded in the waste fluid tank, the level sensors provide a signal and the plastic tank is replaced.

The ideal housing dimensions of the CQ35 enable the sensors to be fitted without problems, even in large numbers. The correct operation of the blood analyser is ensured by monitoring the levels.
