A Case Story from Schmersal
A dairy processing plant required safety light curtains with IP69k to withstand high pressure (to 1450 PSI) and high temperature (to 176° F / 80° C) wash downs in the food processing environment. They previously used alternative safety light curtains which were prone to failing under washdowns. Additionally, aligning those curtains was another challenge they faced. The solution for their application was light curtains with IP69K protective enclosure from Schmersal.

Options are available for the SLC440 light curtains to be factory sealed within an IEC 60529 IP69 rated enclosure. This allows the curtains to be used in areas where they may be exposed to high pressure or high temperature wash downs or ECOLAB approved cleaning agents.
